Mark Goldsmith is the General Manager of Robbins & Myers Pfaudler Balfour/Edlon Divisions and a member of the Fife Economic Partnership. His interests are manufacturing, engineering and renewable energy. Mark enjoys rugby and gardening in his leisure time.

Mrs Irene Morrison
Irene Morrison is a Public Appointments Assessor with the Commission for Ethical Standards in Public Life in Scotland. She is a former Head of Internal Audit for a large Government Department and is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Internal Auditors. Irene enjoys gardening and golf. She is a committee member of the Friends of St Andrews Botanic Garden and is the Secretary of the Steering Group committed to the future direction of the Garden.

Ms Caroline Lamb
Caroline Lamb is the Director of Finance and Corporate Resources/Deputy Chief Executive of NHS Education for Scotland. She is a trustee of Family Services Unit Scotland, which is a Scottish Charity and operates under the name of Circle providing support to marginalised children and families. Caroline lists as her interests; performance management, risk management and finance. She is a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales. In her leisure time, Caroline enjoys reading, travel, theatre, music and dog walking.

Mr Bill Roxburgh
Bill Roxburgh is retired and previously he worked as a Finance Director in manufacturing in commercial businesses. He is a member of Dundee Children’s Panel, chairs Perth and Kinross Educational Appeals Committee and is a trustee of Tullis Russell Pension Scheme. Bill is interested in management and management information and enjoys both golf and holidaying.

Mr WG Taylor
Bill Taylor is an economic and business adviser to a number of companies and individuals. In addition to being a Board member of Adam Smith College he is also on the Boards of Fife Coast and Countryside Trust as well as Fife Historic Buildings Trust. Bill’s interests include economic matters and matters connected to Fife. Bill spends his leisure time playing golf, walking and travelling.

Mr DC Munro
Don Munro was the Chief Executive of Tullis Russell Paper Manufacturers prior to his retirement and he now runs a part time consultancy. He is the Chair of the Institute of Business and Management Board and has general commercial business interests. Don’s leisure interests include music and art.

Mr David Cochrane
David Cochrane is the Chief Executive of the Hospitality Industry Trust Scotland (HIT Scotland) and he is Chair of the College’s Tourism and Sport Advisory Board. He also chairs the ScotHot Committee and is on the Advisory Boards of a number of Scottish tourism initiatives. David says that he believes the principles of Adam Smith College are exceptional and that he has enjoyed working with many of the tourism people within the College in its various stages of development. In 2011 David will climb Kilimanjaro to raise funds for the emerging talent of the hospitality industry. David enjoys all food and drink and entertaining as well as all sports and foreign travel.

Mr Steve Grimmond
Steve Grimmond is the Executive Director of Environment, Enterprise and Communities in Fife Council. He is also a member of the Board of Creative Scotland. Steve’s interests include lifelong learning, art, culture and sport and his leisure interests are painting, football and cinema.

Ms Winifred McEwen
Winfred McEwen is the Teaching Staff nominee and a lecturer in the Department of Education and Social Sciences. She is a member of the Education Institute of Scotland (EIS), Workers Education Association (WEA) and Engender. Her leisure time is spent enjoying gardening, poultry, Japanese film, history of art, Scottish history and literature.

Mr Frank McCann
Frank McCann is the Support Staff nominee and is the E-vision administrator within the Department of Information Management where he is engaged in developing online provision to applicants, students and staff. He was employed for over 25 years in the Textile industry in Quality Assurance. He has an MBA, an HND in Communication Studies and is an associate member of the CQI. His leisure interests include cooking, reading, cinema and music concerts.

Ms Beneta Brown
Beneta Brown is the President of the Students’ Association and is the Chairperson of the Disability Advisory Group at the College. Beneta is also the Secretary of the Rabbits Brae Development Group and a member of HMS Hood Association. She enjoys miniature model wargaming, roleplaying, swimming, attending the local Kirk, walking her dog and reading comic books. Beneta says that she has been a student at the College for four years before becoming the President. She has studied quantity surveying and obtained a degree in that field. Beneta has a passion for the rights of students and wishes to give back to the College the joy and happiness given to her during her time of study.

Mr Forrester Adam
Forrester Adam is Managing Director of Haldane UK Ltd which is recognised as the most advanced Architectural Joinery company in the UK. Forrester is a past student of the College, qualifying with an Advanced City & Guilds in Joinery in 1982. Working for a number of joinery and construction companies, advancing into a number of management roles, he finally joined Haldane UK in 1991 with a remit to develop the Company. The Company has secured a number of national business awards, securing the Queens Award for Innovation in 2006. Forrester has over 30 years experience in the construction industry.
A local family man born and bred, he was past Chair of both the School Association and Board at Dunnikier Primary school and a supporter of the Adam Smith Trust. He is currently Chair of Balwearie High School community group and Vice Commodore of Elie & Earlsferry Sailing Club. Forrester is a keen power boater, which he enjoys passionately with his family and friends. He is very proud and passionate of his long and continued association with the College.

Mr Paddy Mallan
Paddy Mallan is Production Operations Director with AMEC in Aberdeen; Amec is a FTSE 100 company providing engineering services to the oil, gas, nuclear and renewables industries. Paddy has spent most of his career in the UK/international onshore and offshore oil and gas sector. He is a past Director of the Deming Learning Network and a member of his Parish and Deanery Parish Councils. His pastimes are golf, holidays and walking the dog.

Mr Eric Byiers
Eric Byiers, a retired Fife Council Executive Director, has a strong belief in the further development of Fife through partnership working within the community planning framework. Adam Smith College plays a key role within that framework and Eric is committed to promoting this role as a Board Member. Eric’s interests include gardening, golf and travel.
