BA Learning Difficulties/Disabilities

SCQF Level 9

We are the only college in Scotland to offer this degree. It has been running for over ten years and is one of the most popular degrees at the College. You will have the chance to attend a summer school in August, which offers preparation for degree study. This degree offers the possibility of career enhancement within the field of Learning Difficulty in both Education and Social Care. Opportunities for post-graduate study at Higher Education may be available.

Duration and Attendance

One Year Full-time or Two Years Part-time

Entry Requirements

  • HND Additional Support Needs: Managing and Supporting the Services
  • Graded Unit at Grade B or equivalent

AND

  • Satisfactory academic reference(s)

OR

One of the following:

  • Equivalent HND plus experience will be considered on an individual basis (Graded Unit at Grade B or equivalent)
  • Qualifications comparable to the above
  • Diploma in Social Work/Nursing (240 SCQF points at relevant levels required)

AND

  • Satisfactory interview and academic reference(s)

Further Study

  • An advanced SVQ (Level 4) while in employment
  • Postgraduate professional courses such as Social Work, Teaching and Careers (depending on previous qualifications)
