HNC Applied Sciences

SCQF Level 7

On this course you will study a wide variety of Science subjects which will provide a good all round introduction to Science at advanced level, and will prepare you to progress further with a Science-related career. You will also develop a wide range of practical skills needed for further study or employment. On successful completion of the HNC Applied Sciences you will be able to progress to an HND course in Applied Chemistry, Applied Biological Sciences, Biomedical Sciences or Environmental Sciences, or alternatively you may progress on to a university degree or enter employment.

Duration and Attendance

One Year Full-time, Part-time or Day Release

Entry Requirements

One of the following:

  • 1 Higher at Grade C or above (Chemistry or Biology), Maths at Standard Grade 2 or equivalent and 2 other Standard Grades at Grade 2 or above from Biology, Chemistry, Physics, English/Communications
  • Industrial experience or other qualifications will be considered on an individual basis

AND

  • As part of the selection process there will also be an information session to meet with tutors
