HNC Architectural Technology

SCQF Level 7

HNC/D Architectural Technology is a varied course that provides a valuable insight into the technical aspects which are fundamental to the Architectural profession.

During the first year of HND Architectural Technology you will achieve all the units necessary for the HNC Construction award.

  • Building Materials and Services
  • Computer Aided Drawing and Design
  • Architectural Procedures
  • Architectural Drawing and Design
  • Design of Building Structures
  • 3D Modelling

Duration and Attendance

  • HNC – Two Years Part-time Day Release
  • HND – Two Years Full-time

Entry Requirements

One of the following:

  • 1 Higher in a relevant subject and 4 Standard Grades at Grade 3 or above which must include Maths
  • NQ Built Environment
  • Industrial experience or other qualifications will be considered on an individual basis

After HNC:

  • HND Architectural Technology
  • HND Facilities Management
  • HND Construction Management

After HND:

  • BSc (Hons) Sustainable Architectural Design, Adam Smith College
  • 2nd/3rd Year BSc programmes in Built Environment at various universities
