HNC Computer Aided Draughting and Design

SCQF Level 7

The application of Computer Aided Draughting (CAD) is a powerful means of showing 2-dimensional, 3-dimensional and animated drawings, using the latest in computer technology. CAD has revolutionised the way in which a wide range of industries operate, including architectural drawings and interior design. This highly sought after HNC in CAD equips students with the necessary skills to enter the labour market, or progress onto a higher level qualification in this specialist field.

Flexible Study

Various Computer Aided Design units of study can be undertaken and if required can lead to the award of HNC in CAD.

Duration and Attendance

One Year Full-time

Entry Requirements

One of the following:

  • 2 Highers and 3 Standard Grades at Level 3 or above, one of which would preferably be Graphic Communication
  • A National Certificate in an appropriate discipline
  • Applicants who do not meet these criteria, but have relevant industrial experience or alternative qualifications will be considered on an individual basis
