HNC Fabrication, Welding and Inspection

SCQF Level 7

This highly sought after advanced level course offers students the opportunity to gain in depth knowledge of commonly used and specialist welding processes and inspection techniques used within the oil, petro-chemical and nuclear industries.

Duration and Attendance

One Year Full-time or Two Years Day Release

Entry Requirements

One of the following:

  • 2 Highers and 2 Standard Grades in relevant subjects
  • Relevant NQ course
  • Industrial experience or other qualifications will be considered on an individual basis

AND

  • As part of the selection process there will also be an information session to meet with tutors

Further Study

  • BINDT Examinations
  • Progression to a related Degree programme of study

Career Opportunities

Progression within this specialised area can lead to Incorporated Engineer level, including the specialisation in Non-Destructive Testing.
