HNC Hospitality

SCQF Level 7

This course will give you a broad grounding for a supervisory or junior management position in the exciting and challenging Hospitality industry. Students will have the opportunity to participate in many College and external events. A period of work experience will offer further opportunities to develop and practice professional supervisory skills.

Duration and Attendance

  • HNC – One Year Full-time or Two Years Part-time
  • HND – Two Years Full-time or Four Years Part-time

This course is offered as a one year HNC or two year HND. Entry requirements are the same for both.

Entry Requirements

One of the following:

  • 1 Higher and 4 Standard Grades at a Grade 3 or above
  • NQ Hospitality and Events to include 12 SQA units at Intermediate 2 or above
  • NQ Professional Cookery to include 12 SQA units at Intermediate 2 or above
  • Industrial experience or other qualifications will be considered on an individual basis

Further Study

  • BA Business Studies or Business Administration (Adam Smith College) after HND
  • BA International Hospitality Management, Queen Margaret University
