HNC Musical Theatre
This practical and highly demanding course has been designed to equip students with performance skills for the entertainment industry, opening up employment opportunities in the Performing Arts Industry.
What You Study

Practical Projects
As part of the course, you will be involved in our in-house and touring performance projects, for which this College has an excellent reputation.
Duration and Attendance
- HNC – One Year Full-time
- HND – Two Years Full-time
This course is offered as a one year HNC or two year HND. Entry requirements are the same for both.
Entry Requirements
One of the following:
- 2 Highers including Music or Drama at a Grade C or above and 4 Standard Grades
- Relevant NQ course at SCQF level 5
- Industrial experience or other qualifications will be considered on an individual basis
AND
- Successful Audition (Candidates will be required to take part in a dance class and perform a monologue (this can be of their own choice or supplied by the college). Details upon application, as well as a song and a dance).

- Accredited Drama and Music Theatre schools throughout the UK
- BA (Hons) Musical Theatre, University of the West of Scotland – Year 3 Entry
- BA Acting for Stage and Screen, Napier University
Entry to degree courses in performing arts is by audition only therefore formal articulation routes do not exist, apart from at the University of the West of Scotland.
