HND Sound Production

The music industry is one the UK's biggest and most culturally significant creative industries. (Department for Culture Media and Sport). This Skillset Pick The Tick course is the ideal launch pad for your sound production/engineering career. This two-year course prepares you for employment in the Creative Industries including Music, Film, Television, Radio and Computer Games industries or into Higher Education at Scottish and English Universities.

Using state-of-the-art equipment in a specially designed recording studio complex, our nationally developed course gives you opportunities to acquire industry recognised skills and knowledge as well as technical proficiency you'll develop an understanding of the economic, social and cultural context of the Creative Industries and the important role sound plays. Our delivery staff, who are passionate about audio and music, will help you become part of Scotland's significant contribution to the Creative Industries.

Entry Requirements

One of the following:

  • 3 Highers including English and 4 Standard Grades from Maths, Physics, Computing at Grade 3 or above
  • Relevant NQ course and Standard Grade Maths and English at Grade 3 or above
  • Industrial experience or other qualifications will be considered on an individual basis
