HND Tourism
Tourism is a diverse and vibrant industry with vast employment opportunities both in the local area and worldwide. This course will provide you with the skills and knowledge needed to enter this exciting industry and prepare you for a career in this growing sector. You will gain knowledge in many aspects of tourism such as providing information on the Scottish tourism product, the structure of the Travel and Tourism industry and planning and sustainable development in tourism.

Year 2
- Planning and Sustainable Development in Tourism
- Influences on the Travel and Tourism Industry
- Marketing Planning in Travel and Tourism
Duration and Attendance
- HNC – One Year Full-time
- HND – Two Years Full-time
This course is offered as a one year HNC or a two year HND. Entry requirements are the same for both.
Entry Requirements
One of the following:
- 1 Higher in a relevant subject and 4 Standard Grades at Grade 2 or above
- NC Business Level 5
- NQ Travel and Tourism to include 12 SQA units at Intermediate 2
- Industrial experience or other qualifications will be considered on an individual basis
Further Study
After HNC:
- HND Tourism Year 2 (dependant on subjects/credits achieved)
- 2nd year in relevant degree courses
After HND:
- 3rd Year BA Business Administration, Adam Smith College
- 3rd Year BA Business Studies, Adam Smith College
- 2nd or 3rd Year in other relevant degree courses
