Introduction to Construction Foundation

SCQF Level 4

This course is designed to help those leaving school with an interest in general construction crafts. You will get to grips with a range of subjects which will help you gain insight into a number of trades involved in the Construction industries. This course also introduces learners to the exciting opportunities in renewable and new technologies associated with energy management.

Students will achieve the SQA Skills for Work in Construction as part of this course.

Duration and Attendance

One Year Full-time

Entry Requirements

One of the following:

  • Numeracy and Communication at Access Level 3 or equivalent
  • Relevant industrial experience or other qualifications will be considered on an individual basis

As part of the selection process there will also be a group information session and aptitude tests. Applicants with additional support needs will be given alternative arrangements if needed.

Further Study

After successfully completing this course, students will be able to apply and progress to NC Construction Foundation.

Career Opportunities

This entry level course is a great way to start a career in Construction. Candidates will be better informed about choices which they will need to make when considering a vocation in the Construction industries. This course provides the underpinning knowledge required to continue further education in Construction.
