Jewellery Design

Jewellery making is a very hands-on subject and all of the class is practically-based. Students are required to work with and manipulate a variety of materials using many different tools and equipment. The course is very much self-led after basic skills are taught. Various chemicals and pieces of equipment such as rotating machinery and open flame gas torches cannot be used unless students can demonstrate that they are competent in their use.

While every effort is made to ensure that learners have an opportunity to learn to competently use tools and equipment. it will not be practical to supervise students for the entire duration of the course. Completion of the course is conditional on students demonstrating this after initial training in the first few weeks.
