NC Higher Access to Nursing, Midwifery and Health
This course gives you an opportunity to gain the entry qualifications required for Nursing or other Health Studies. The course consists of a wide range of health related subjects which includes a Care Higher. You will also complete a work placement within a Care environment which will enable you to apply your developing knowledge to your practice.
What You Study
A range of Health and Care subjects including:
- Continuation of Life
- Sociology for Care
- Psychology for Care
- Care Higher
Work Experience
All students will be asked to give consent for a criminal record check to be carried out by Disclosure Scotland. No placement experience can be organised without a satisfactory report.
Duration and Attendance
Entry Requirements
One of the following:
- 4 Standard Grades at Grade 2 or above, English and Numeracy preferred
- 4 Intermediate 2 courses at Grade C or above
- Pre-access to Nursing/Introduction to Childcare - pass at Intermediate 2 or above
- Applicants without formal qualifications will be expected to demonstrate the ability to work at Higher level
AND
- Attendance at group information session
- Positive reference
