NC Intermediate 2 Construction Foundation

SCQF Level 5

This entry level course is a great way to start a career in Construction. Candidates will be better informed about choices which they will need to make when considering a vocation in the construction industries. This course provides the underpinning knowledge required for a modern apprenticeship in Construction or to continue further education in Construction.

Duration and Attendance

One Year Full-time

Entry Requirements

One of the following:

  • Achieved a course award in Skills for Work and attained General Standard Grades in Maths and English
  • Achieved a course award in Skills for Work: Introduction to Construction Foundation
  • 5 General Standard Grades of which Maths and English are essential
  • Relevant industrial experience or other qualifications will be considered on an individual basis

As part of the selection process there will also be a group information session and aptitude tests. Applicants with additional support needs will be given alternative arrangements if needed.

Further Study

After successfully completing this course students will be able to apply and progress to the level 6 courses in construction:

  • NQ Built Environment
  • NC Electrical Installation
  • NC Plumbing
