NC Intermediate 2 Introduction to Childcare and Education

SCQF Level 5

If you are a school leaver thinking of a career in Childcare this could be the place to start.

What You Study

Placement in an early years setting, for example a play group or an after school club.

Duration and Attendance

One Year Full-time

Entry Requirements

One of the following:

  • 4 Standard Grades at Grade 3 or above including English
  • 4 subjects at Intermediate 1, Grade A or B including English (Skills for Work Childcare Intermediate 1 is also acceptable as one subject)
  • First Steps in Childcare (pass 12 credits including external exam and Communication Intermediate 2)

AND

  • Students must also be accepted as a PVG scheme member through the College system. Placements cannot be started without this (see Disclosure Scotland for more information about the Protection of Vulnerable Groups)
