NC Mechanical Engineering

SCQF Level 6

This course covers a variety of core subjects in the principles of technology, and will lead to an SQA qualification that is recognised and sought after by employers.

Duration and Attendance

One Year Full-time (18 credits) or One Year Part-time (12 credits)

Entry Requirements

One of the following:

  • 3 Standard Grades at Grade 3 or above including Maths and English and preferably a Science subject
  • SVQ Level 1 Performing Engineering Operations including core skills Maths, English and Information Technology at Level 5

Further Study

Engineering courses including:

  • HNC Mechanical Engineering
  • HNC Manufacture Engineering

Career Opportunities

Further studies may lead to Modern Apprenticeship or Technician role in Design, Manufacture or Services in a wide variety of industries.
