NC Plumbing

SCQF Level 5 - 6

This course is essential to help you make your way in the expanding Building and Mechanical Services industry. This course is designed to give you an introduction to the essential skills you will need as a Plumber.

What You Study

A mixture of practice and theory topics.

An Introduction to:

  • Building Services in Domestic Low-rise Buildings
  • Domestic Heating Systems
  • Construction Site Surveying
  • Sustainability in the Building Industry
  • Electrical and Hand Wiring Skills
  • Lead Burning, Bronze, Welding and Hard Soldering
  • Health and Safety in the Building Industry
  • Computer Aided Drawing in Construction

Duration and Attendance

One Year Full-time

Entry Requirements

One of the following:

  • 3 Standard Grades at Grade 4 or above in Numeracy, Communication and Information Technology
  • Award in NC Construction Foundation
  • Relevant industrial experience or other qualifications will be considered on an individual basis

To help us make selection applicants will be invited to a group interview whereby you will undertake a British Plumbing Employers Council (BPEC) Test. Applicants will be considered after completing and achieving a pass mark of 70% or above. If you have any disability, which will require support to undertake the test please advise the interviewer. Advice on referral will be offered to those who are unsuccessful.
