NC Intermediate 2 to Higher Science Subjects

SCQF Level 5 - 6

If you are fascinated by the way Science helps us understand our world, this course will give you a practical insight into the way Science really works. The course offers an interesting mix of Science subjects at Intermediate 2 and Higher level, and provides both an excellent introduction to further study at HNC level and an internationally recognised set of qualifications in its own right. The flexibility in this course allows you to choose the subjects that will satisfy your future plans.

Duration and Attendance

One or two years full-time depending on qualifications and experience. Please refer to entry requirements.

Entry Requirements

First Year Entry:

  • Numeracy/Mathematics at Access 3 and Communication at Intermediate 1

Second Year Entry:

  • 4 Standard Grades at Grade 2 or above or equivalent including Chemistry, Biology, Maths or English

Entry level will be determined at an information session to meet with tutors.

Further Study

  • HNC Applied Sciences
  • HND Applied Chemistry
  • HND Applied Biological Sciences
  • HND Biomedical Sciences
  • HND Environmental Sciences
  • First year of a degree at many Scottish Universities (Scottish Wider Access Programme)
