NC Sport and Fitness

SCQF Level 5

This course is designed to provide you with an understanding and knowledge, along with the vocational skills required to work within the industry: exercise and fitness, sports coaching, uniformed services, leisure attendants. This course will provide you with the under pinning knowledge required to progress to one of our level 6 courses.

  • Leadership Skills through Practical Activity
  • Anatomy and Physiology
  • Nutrition, Health and Well-being
  • Fitness and Exercise Training Methods
  • Circuit Training
  • Sporting Activities: Volleyball, Badminton
  • Voluntary Work within the Community
  • Core Skills – Communication/Information Technology/Numeracy

Duration and Attendance

One Year Full-time

Entry Requirements

  • 4 Standard Grades at Level 3 or above including English or Intermediate 1 Communication at Grade C or above
  • Reference to support your application
  • Offer subject to successful outcome at recruitment day

OR

  • Pass a Sport and Fitness related course at level 4 (13 credits)
  • Reference to support your application
  • Offer subject to successful outcome at recruitment day

AND

  • Students must also be accepted as a PVG scheme member through the College system. Placements cannot be started without this (see Disclosure Scotland for more information about the Protection of Vulnerable Groups)
