NC Sound Production

SCQF Level 6

Sound Production is an exciting career combining creative and technology skills. Sound is a very important production component in Music, Film, Television, Radio and the Computer, Media and Games industries. You need a broad range of skills, a balance of creativity and technical ability with personal and professional skills. Studying with us will prepare you for this exciting career by giving you opportunities to acquire industry recognised skills and knowledge using our superbly equipped recording studios and edit suites. The Centre for Creative Industries is an AVID Pro Tools Pro School.

Please note: it is not a requirement that applicants are musicians.

Duration and Attendance

One Year Full-time

Entry Requirements

One of the following:

  • 4 Standard Grades including English and Maths at Grade 3 or above
  • Relevant experience with other qualifications (including English and Maths) will be considered on an individual basis

Further Study

  • Entry onto a related HNC/HND or Degree
  • Pro Tools 101, 110, 201, 210, 310 Certificate Training
