NC Higher Technical Theatre (incorporating Stage Management and Production Arts)

SCQF Level 6

This new course has been developed to offer students an intensive and practical course with appropriate skills and knowledge in all Theatre Production areas from Stage Management, Lighting and Sound to Set and Costume Construction. Designed with a core set of units and wide range of options, the course can be tailored to the needs of each learner.

Practical Projects

This course is hands on and you will undertake the roles of Assistant Stage Manager, Lighting and Sound Assistant and Design Assistant on the in-house and touring productions and projects within the department. Throughout the course you will be taught the theory and techniques within each production department, which will underpin all production work.

One Year Full-time

Entry Requirements

One of the following:

  • 4 Standard Grades including English and Mathematics as well as basic Information Technology and Literacy
  • Industrial experience or other qualifications will be considered on an individual basis

  • Successful Interview
