PDA Renewable Energy Systems

SCQF Level 8

This course has been designed to provide learners with knowledge and understanding of current and future trends in energy production, sustainability and energy conservation issues and the role that renewable energy systems technologies may play in meeting energy demands and in limiting global environmental change. The course will also allow students to gain a broad knowledge and understanding of the science and engineering of many renewable energy systems technologies when solving energy related problems.

What You Study

Mandatory:

  • Renewable Energy Systems: Overview of Energy Use
  • Renewable Energy Systems: Technology

Two other options may be available dependent on demand for example:

  • Solar Energy
  • Wind Energy

Duration and Attendance

One Year Part-time – One day per week

Entry Requirements

  • HNC/D Mechatronics
  • HNC/D Engineering Systems
  • BSc/BEng in a Multidisciplinary Engineering subject
  • Other Engineering HNC/Ds may be considered but bridging units may need to be studied first

Upon completion you will have gained an insight into the renewable energy industry whilst also being able to specialise in specific areas. This qualification will give you the insight to progress into the exciting and evolving renewable energy industry as it is emerging.
