Step Up to Care

This is a short course that runs over 3 days per week for 18 weeks, with family friendly hours.

This course offers an insight into the various careers available within the care sector. Starting at the basic level, you will enhance or gain skills/knowledge of the care system such as First Aid and Child Protection.

This course gives you access to on hand practical training through work placements.

Ideal for those who have a keen interest in working in the care sector but have little or no experience, or have been away from studying for some time.

  • Values and Principles in Care
  • Embracing Cultural Diversity in a Care Setting
  • Work Experience in a Community Work Setting

Duration and Attendance

Three days - Monday, Wednesday and Friday

0930 to 1430

Entry Requirements

  • Communication, Numeracy and Information Technology at Access 3 level

OR

  • The ability to perform at that level in these areas
