VRQ Level 1 Vehicle Maintenance and Repair (Light Vehicle)

SCQF Level 5

VRQs (Vocationally Related Qualifications) will give you a good grounding for working with light vehicles and is an excellent way to gain the essential knowledge required for progression to a Modern Apprenticeship in Scotland and start your career in the automotive industry.

What You Study

  • Contribute to Workplace Good Housekeeping
  • Workshop Processes, Methods and Vehicle Construction
  • Carry Out Basic Routine Maintenance
  • Remove and Replace Vehicle Chassis Units and Components
  • Core Skills

Duration and Attendance

One Year Full-time – Three days per week

Entry Requirements

One of the following:

  • 3 Standard Grades at Grade 3 or above in English, Maths and a Science subject, preferably Physics
  • Industrial experience or other qualifications will be considered on an individual basis

Please note all students will be required to complete an aptitude test and successful interview.

Further Study

Progression to higher level courses e.g. VRQ Level 2
