Our skilled staff can help you identify the resources you need, both from existing stock and online sources.

Campus libraries are stocked with a wide range of resources, books, eBooks, journals and much more. These have been chosen to support your course. We also have a small fiction collection.

All of our libraries have a range of study spaces, including IT areas. PCs can be booked by staff and students for research and study use. Our staff can help you login to the network and advise on search techniques. Booking your PC in advance will ensure you a place at busy times.

What services and resources are available?

We have a wide range of services to support all aspects of the College curriculum:

  • Books, both lending and reference all listed on our online catalogue;

  • eBooks accessible in College and from home;

  • Journals and newspapers; a range of print copies together with online access through InfoTrac and Emerald (online journal/newspaper services);

  • PC drop-in areas with Internet access, Microsoft Office, Microsoft Publisher and specialist software such as Text Help. Printers, scanners and colour printing are available;

  • A range of online resources, guides and leaflets are all available on the Library page of the Learning and Teaching Gateway, accessible in College and from home;

  • Photocopying, laminating, binding, as well as a range of stationery and art supplies are for sale;

  • Access to study spaces;

  • Computing Facilities.

Links with The University of Abertay Dundee

Adam Smith College students studying for an award from The University of Abertay Dundee can connect to the Abertay network and access many of their resources. You will be introduced to this as part of your course, or ask library staff for further details.

We also have a reciprocal borrowing agreement with Abertay for all Adam Smith College staff and students. You should complete the Online Membership Application on the Abertay University library website and take your College ID card along to the University library to register as an external reader.

Access and Membership

All College staff and students are welcome to use any of our campus libraries.

Students

As students your College ID is also your library card, please bring this with you when you visit the library. All students can borrow up to six items with loan periods varying from one week to three weeks. It will help other students if books are returned on time, charges are made for late returns.
